Plant activities for preschool
We made our ownconstruction paper flowers easyto decorate the inside of our house.
I thought this was so much fun, simple to make, and came out super cute!
My kids LOVE theconstruction paper flower craftthey crated!
The stem is their straw from which they get all their water.
We did the classic experiment of placing white carnations in colored water.
I asked the kids to make a hypothesis of what would happen.
After about 2 hours there was a hint of some green & blue on the carnations.
2 days later the blue & green carnations were fairly well colored.
The orange watered carnation had traces of orange around the edge of the petals.
The yellow and the pink watered carnations had not changed at all.
The black carnation turned it green.
Since this attempt, weve perfecteddying flowersand can now make one flower have more than one color!
Youve got to see it!

We also germinated our own seed.
This was a great way to observe what happens under the soil when we plant a seed.
We moistened a paper towel and rung it out slightly.
We placed the wet paper towel and 3 pea seeds inside a small Ziploc bag.
The kids taped them to a sunny window and we waited & observed.
We acted out dormant seeds in sleeping bag popping out.
Sorry, I couldnt see to get a picture that capture it well.
