My hubby gets up at 6:15 to get ready for work. I have learned to sleep through his alarm over the past couple of years. We then read a book together before crawling out of bed to get ourselves ready for the day. Tristan gets himself dressed, his bed aired out, etc. Kallista and I have some breakfast and then get ourselves dressed and ready as well. He chooses his daily folder and decides what he would like to do from it....

****5.45 pm. I wake to the sound of little whimpers coming through the video monitor on the shelf by my bed. I must have dozed off, and Goblin must have too. I roll over to chat to Hublet just Goblin shouts Mummy can I wake up. It never ceases to amuse me that he wakes up and then asks permission to wake up. By now Hublet is awake and checking emails on his phone....
I love creating fun, special spaces for the kids! Their rooms are no different. Goofy was especially excited because he is now old enough to help Mom paint. Yep, in our family Mom is the painter. At that point he LOVED Elmo so it was a no brainer to decorate his room with Elmo. After looking for the perfect addition and not finding it I decided to try my hand at sewing....
We have been helping Goofy (Kindergarten) begin to read chapter books. It is a fun time to snuggle up together for some big kid reading time.Why chapter books? The mystery was just right from my 6 year old. The chapters were short, there were several pictures, and it kept his interest. The series revolves around two kids: Christina and Grant who travel with their mystery writing grandparents. We cant wait to read our next book in this series!...
Snuggling Awake6:30am-Slowly drift into consciousness as I feel something looking at me. Could be one of the dogs wanting to go outside or my son. Snuggle together before alarm goes off. Remind son to use a whispering voice to not wake up the whole house. Doesnt work for more than a second.6:40am-Daughter calls from her doorway, can I get up now? Invite her to join us. Kids argue about who is going to snuggle on what side of Mommy....
