This is one of my favorite projects weve made so far.

Perfect for Preschool or elementary age kids.

This is such a fun craft for kids!

Glow in the Dark Spider Web Craft - This is fun for a spider unit or a Halloween craft for kids preschool, kindergarten, 1st grade, 2nd grade, 3rd grade, and 4th grade.

Whether you are learning about spiders or want a fun Halloween craft, this is a fun kids activity.

Here is how we made it!

Blow up a balloon and hang it so that it’s possible for you to work around it.

Glow in the Dark Spider Web Craft

We hung ours from our kitchen table ceiling fan.

Pour out a LARGE bottle of glue into a dish.

Cut 30 or so 12 (give or take) strips of yarn.

paper mache

Dip the yarn in the glue to completely coat.

Use fingers and glide across yarn to push off any extra glue.

(Note: Little hands will love this, but it can get a little messy.

wrapping the yarn

verify to cover parts of the entire balloon (bottom too) and overlap the yarn.

This is what your spider web should look like at this point.

Allow it to fully dry (ours was dry by the next day).

letting it dry

Then use a toothpick and pop the balloon.

Our kids were amazed at how the web stayed intact and the balloon easily came out through the web.

This will happen quickly, within 1-2 hours tops.

spraying with glow in the dark paint

I used my handy dandyglue gunto attach spiders to our web.

(Note: Glue guns are hot and I do not let my children help with this part.)

Here Come the Spider

Here is a close-up of what our web looks like in the daytime.

Glow in the Dark Spider Web Kids Activity

This is what the web looks like at night!

Cool, right?!?!?

how cool does that look

It just needs a couple hours of daylight to recharge and it will continue glowing in the dark.
