Learning does not come easy for my sweet little girl.
Every step forward is a hard-fought battle.
Vowel teams are tricky.
There are so many of them and so many generalizations.
And to top it off, there are lots of exceptions to the rules.
So I decided we needed to spend time each day reviewing these pesky vowel teams.

Syllable types
There are six syllable types.
And then the vowel teams.
This syllable I think is the hardest, because there are SOOO many of them.
But basically, it is when two vowels come together to make a sound.
Sometimes they make a long sound.
(Like ee in feet).
But then sometimes they make a totally different sound.
We can see that in vowel teams like ou.
Sometimes it says ow like couch, and sometimes it says oo like in soup.
And that is why constant review is needed, especially for our learners that need a little extra attention.
I love it as a quick review, and I hope you do too.
