Use thissolid liquid gas activitywith kindergarten, first grade, second grade, and third graders.
Each card in thisstates of matter printablehas a different, easily identifiable picture.
Under the main picture are three boxes with a state of matter written in them.
One of the three will be the correct state of matter that corresponds with the main picture.

Now print off the eight different pages.
The pages come in color, with four cards per letter sheet.
These cards will need to be cut out and laminated for durability.
We have used many different types of manipulatives, not just clothes pins.
Then I ask them to name which state of matter they think it is.
If they dont know, we go through each one separate.
We put the manipulative on the clip card and move to the next.
We do this until all of the cards have been completed.
